The Co-Op Program
The Cooperative Education Program at Pitt is one of the most exciting opportunities available to engineering students and employers. Our Program is an educational program that prepares students for professional careers by combining academic training with practical work experience in industry, business, and government services. Co-op students typically alternate periods of full-time work with periods of full-time, on-campus study. They complete a minimum of three work rotations before they graduate.
Approximately fifty percent of the Swanson School of Engineering students participate in our Program.
While the majority of our students are engineering students, we also often have co-op positions available for chemistry, computer science, and information science students!
